Okay, forget about Republicans and Democrats, Left and Right. This has got nothing to do with those creaky old concepts. Lets try this from a different angle.

America is still a rich country, rich in skills and natural wealth and innovation. With proper management and a will to be fair there is no reason why everyone who lives there cannot enjoy equal opportunity and freedom from poverty. But that’s not happening now and it won’t unless there are radical changes. So stand up, please, any political party which is willing to :-

- drive money, lobbyists and corporate influence right out of politics
- ensure that everyone is taxed fairly according to their ability to pay
- drastically reduce the military budget and slash the 800 overseas military bases
- break the USAs toxic relationship with Israel and stop meddling in the middle-east
- operate an ethical foreign policy that relies on diplomacy rather than war
- invest in infrastructure projects to create jobs and prepare for the future
- invest in an excellent public school and higher education system free for all
- invest in a universal healthcare system free to all at the point of delivery
- ensure equality in the law for all, regardless of race, gender, or religion
- abandon the failed war on drugs and adopt an evidence-based approach
- abandon the failed war on terror and repeal the repressive ‘security’ laws
- roll back the excesses of the surveillance state and stop spying on Americans
- create strong, ethical consumer-protection regulation of all aspects of the market
- in all things, aim to run the USA to benefit all rather than just a privileged few.

Not hard. Not rocket science. Just some obvious, unremarkable things that America desperately needs to be done. Practical things that have nothing to do with political ideology and everything to do with creating a better and fairer society. Surely that is the most noble American Dream of all ?

So will any political party in America willing to deliver that agenda, or even to try, please stand up because your country desperately needs you. Anyone ? And will any party, whatever their political persuasion, NOT willing to deliver that agenda please just bugger off now because you’re part of the problem, not the solution.
