I love genetic engineering but in the wrong hands it’s a fucking disaster. Please support independent research so we’ll all have an alternative to bullshit like this.

GM as a science is fine. In fact, without it, gene identification, modifiers, epigenetics and a dozen other useful outcomes would not be possible … That said, the mistake made was to allow companies to “patent life” and thus to allow mega corporates like Monsanto to abuse the science and patent laws to modify crops not for the benefit of farmers, consumers or the environment, but simply to provide a “vertical integration” for their chemical (herbicide and pesticide) sales. But hey, we won’t be able to even talk about this soon as Monsanto and other food related mega corps have requested that laws be implemented that allow those that highlight these facts, provide images or share data of the results that in turn “causes ‘economic loss’” to be charged as terrorists due to the “negative impact on the economy, culture and security” of the nation. There is far more to be afraid of than the science.
